Taco is a traditional Mexican food filled with various existing ingredients and also has history with its rich flavor, this traditional meal forms a cultural diversity of the Mexicans.
And this meal is commonly made with tortilla, small hand sized corn with fillings in it, and it’s classified as a finger food, its crispy texture and delicious taste are very outstanding. There are many types of tacos and they have different special ways of preparing them.
If you are a person who have passion for cooking you just love to cook day and night, or some that if you haven’t cook for that day is as if something went wrong.
And you have being coming across this dish (taco) or your friends talk about it a lot and you simply want to try it out, keep swiping and you get a fine result.
If you really want to get that crispy, warm and delicious taste and want your eaters to love your dish even more, you can’t afford to miss this at all. This recipe is one of my favorites and am happy to share it with you and I’m very certain it will be yours too.
Fish Taco Recipe
The main ingredient in this type of taco is the fish and it is the star ingredient. Each ingredient has its purpose, meaning and uniqueness when put in the mouth giving it savory taste. Below is an outstanding fish taco recipe.
Ingredients:
- Fish taco sauce:
- 3 ½ tablespoons of Mexican cream
- 1 ½ tablespoons of lime juice and zest
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of siracha sauce
- 2 ½ tablespoons of mayonnaise
- Smoked paprika
- 1 chopped cilantro
- 1 pinch of kosher salt

Directions:
- Mix your ingredients (sour cream, lime juice and zest, cilantro, kosher salt, garlic powder, siracha sauce and smoked paprika) till you see its very smooth.
- Toppings:
1 fine sliced Avocado, cheese or even better more Mexican type of cheese “cotija”, black beans. Feel free to use any that best fit your preferred taste.
- Tortillas
You can get as many batches of tortilla depending on the quantity you are making and preferably (corn tortillas).
- Fish fillet & marinade:
- Here its up to you to use your favorite fish, the one that is most comfortable to you. But I recommend you using either tilapia, cod, mahi-mahi, salmon or even sword fish any of it available. And having it in a considerate quality and quantity, good fish matters a lot.
- 2 pinches of salt
- 2 pinches of pepper
- 3tsp cup of olive oil
- 1 lime juice and zest
- 2tsp. chili powder
- 1tsp. paprika
Directions:
- Place your fish on a flat surface like a tray then sprinkle your salt and chili pepper on your preferred fish then set it aside.
- Then in a bowl we will get our marinade done by adding (olive oil, lime juice and zest, paprika) then mix.
- Add your fish to your marinade and mix properly, wait for 20 minutes.
- Get your pan with then grease with oil and set to medium low heat.
- Then pour your fish with marinade into your pan then cook.
- After cooking keep it aside.
- Corn slaw
- 2c. of shredded cabbage
- 1c. Canned corn or even a fresh corn that has been removed from its cob, cooked and cooled will also do
- 1 chopped Jalapeno
- 1 chopped green onions
- ¼ c. Mayonnaise

You can substitute mayonnaise with sour cream or even yoghurt
- 1 fresh juiced Lime and zest
- Kosher salt
- 1tsp. honey
Directions:
- Turn your shredded cabbages into a big bowl.
- Add your canned corn or fresh corn any of your choice, green onions, kosher salt, jalapeno, lime juice and zest, honey and your mayonnaise. Then mix it till smooth.
- Set aside your corn slaw.
After preparing your corn slaw, your fish, also your avocado and your taco and set to go below are the steps for you to put them together.
Steps:
- Set your tortilla in your set.
- Smash your fish not completely and put inside your tortilla.
- Then put your corn slaw on top of your fish in the tortilla.
- Add your avocado tour your tortilla.
- Drizzle your fish taco sauce or use your sauce as a dip, any of the option that is comfortable with you. But I recommend you pouring your fish taco sauce so every part of the taco you will taste with it.
And now your taco is ready and set for eating.
Tips:
- If you’re the type that doesn’t like much pepper in your meal, remove seeds in your jalapeno before you use or reduce the quantity of the pepper. This wont harm your dish at all.
- To get that rich taste and make your food even more healthy use an avocado for your fish taco.
- If you’re the type that loves your fish to be well spiced, do well to leave your fish to marinate well given it additional time like 10 minutes more.
- Use fresh frozen fish to give you that marvelous taste and it also prevents the fish from scattering before you even start cooking
- Make sure you get good and quality ingredient
- Don’t overcook or end up having a not fully cooked dish
