Ingredients For A Baked Crispy Tofu
- 2tsp Soy sauce
If soy sauce isn’t available there are other amazing yummy sauce you can use to substitute soy sauce like; fish sauce, tamari, coconut aminos are used also as for tofu.
- Olive oil
In this case the oil is important because it is the ingredient that make your tofu crispy and give you the amazing taste you are looking for, your olive oil or even extra virgin olive oil is just the best.
- ¾ cup cornstarch
Some people ask why don’t I use corn flour instead of cornstarch? Well cornstarch is used because it gives your tofu that crispy texture you want, although rice and potato flour are available but I recommend you to use your cornstarch.

You can not proceed with your cooking without having your extra firm tofu, it won’t be just right because this is the basic ingredient, make sure you get the right one making your delicious and stunning.
- 1teaspoon kosher salt
- 1teaspoon garlic powder
Garlic is one amazing ingredient used in this dish its work is to add its own flavor to dish.
- Diced green onions
- 1 teaspoon of cayenne Pepper
In this case we are going to use cayenne pepper.
Directions:
- Preheat your oven for about 400 degrees Fahrenheit
- We will start by getting our our firm or extra tofu from the refrigerator and removing the water then we slice into tiny cubes or any shape you prefer.
- Then get your sliced tofu and place it on a thick towel surface and covering it with that thick towel placing a hard surface on top like a cast iron skillet or anything heavy available and leave it for about an hour, then you transfer it into a bowl.
- Then bring a separate bowl and add your other ingredient (olive oil, kosher salt, garlic powder, cayenne pepper and cornstarch) then you mix.
- After mixing you pour it into your bowl of tofu then stir till you don’t see your cornstarch.
- Then you set your baking pan and line it with your parchment paper so your tofu won’t stick to your pan.
- Line your tofu so they won’t touch each other then put it in the oven already set in 400 degrees Fahrenheit and set the timer to 20 minutes.
- When the timer goes off bring it out and flip it to the other part then return it and set the timer for another 15 minutes, this is done so that all side can be baked well.
- Your 15 minutes is up now time to get that crispy baked tofu out and ready to go. This recipe will just make your tofu very tender in the inside and super crispy on the outside.
- You can use your tofu with your favorite dip even with noodles any of your choice that just taste good or fit your taste.
Tips;
- Do not use much pepper if not you will end up with a spicy tofu.
- To make draining of water from your extra firm tofu or just firm tofu easy you can slice your tofu before you put it on the towel.
- We use towel to make sure all the water is been absorbed from the tofu.
- Placing your tofu in lines not touching each other prevents sticking and make your tofu gets that crispy texture.
